SEATTLE PHOTO DIARY

FINALLY, here are some of my favorite photos from our Spring Break trip to Seattle. Based on some locals, March wasn't the "best time" to visit Seattle but nonetheless, we had an amazing time there. Hope you enjoy the photos.

Xinyi and I arrived to Seattle on Saturday around 8pm. We made it our place and quickly checked in and went out to grad dinner. Living in downtown was great because everything is near you and within walking distance. One funny episode from our first night in Seattle; as a last minute packer, i realized that i forgot to pack couple things so that night i was running back and forth to target buying those...#lessonlearned

Day ONE// Sunday, March 19//
One thing that i really worried about was the weather in Seattle; it rains really often apparently. We were lucky; the sun was out on our first day.
Visited Gas Works Park after breakfast; a strange yet unique city park offering panoramic views of Lake Union and downtown skyline.
Museum of Pop Culture : a free spirit place filled with art and music. Just a nice place to explore both  indoor and outdoor.
ShareTea Landing in Renton: bit busy but got some good bubble tea.
Alki Beach, North Admiral : after lunch, we walked around the beach. bit windy but the view was lovely.
Seattle Waterfront: super touristy place but a nice place to walk around and nice view.

🍳Japanese:  dinner was delicious; reserve advance if you don't want to wait in line.

*special thanks to Kao and Narith for the fun day! thanks guys πŸ‘¬

Day TWO//Monday, March 20//
πŸ—» Spend the first day of Spring at Mt. Rainier. Our tour guide was really sweet with good humor. He bought cupcakes for all. We made it up to the top of Paradise.

Day THREE//Tuesday, March 21//
After breakfast, we visited Chihuly Garden/Exhibition. Work by artist Dale Chihuly, the exhibition includes galleries, Glasshouse and a garden.

🍳lunch at Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya : super friendly servers and lovely place to eat.

visited Starbucks Reserve Roastery & Tasting Room
ChinaTown: the cleanest Chinatown ever!

🍰Bumba: chill place to sit and chat over dessert

🍳Dinner at Boiling Point

Space Needle at night; amazing view of Seattle at night

Day FOUR//Wednesday, March 22//
πŸ“šSeattle Central Public Library

🍳Dinner at Noi Thai Cuisine; I love Thai food and their Thai food was amazing!

Day FIVE// Thursday, March 23//
🚒Argosy Harbor Cruise; nice day for a tour on waterfront
Gum Wall; the infamous Gum wall literally covered in colorful gum...

Day SIX// Friday, March 24//
🌿Washington Park Arboretum
Seattle Art Museum

Day SEVEN//Saturday, March 25//
🌸went to UW to see cherry blossom and a tour of the campus
🚈 monorail; $5 for a roundtrip
πŸŒ†Pike Place Market; one last time walking around the market. I miss this place

We stayed at Green Tortoise Hostel : my first time staying at a hostel and I really enjoyed the experience. Meeting people from all walks of life and enjoying random talks over coffee. I definitely recommended. After our first couple days, we slowed down our pace a bit and instead of exploring tourist places; engage with the locals and enjoy the city and it's people.
*Special thanks to Xinyi, Kao, Narith, Danny, Jason and everyone who made my trip so unforgettable.

love,
Sonam
